Favorite Books

I've chosen a few favorites that I * highly recommend!  If the author has a web site a link has been provided.  Some are books for children, some are books for adults, and they have been marked as such:

Children's & Teen Books:

* Greenwitch, by Susan Cooper.  (Fantasy for ages 12 and up from her "Dark is Rising" Series.  This is my favorite book in that series).

* Millions, by Frank C. Boyce.

* Holes, by Louis Sachar.  (Ages 8 and up, Fiction). 

* Speak, by Laurie Anderson  (Teen Fiction).

* The Magician's Nephew, by C. S. Lewis. (Fantasy fiction for children)

* Hope Was Here, by Joan Bauer (Teen Fiction).

* A Christmas Memory, by Truman Capote.  (All ages).

* The Life and Times of Santa Claus (grapic novel edition) by Frank Baum (who wrote the Wizard of Oz).

Poetry Books:

* Poems, New and Collected 1957-1997, by Wislawa Szymborska (Winner of the Nobel Prize for Poetry)

* Burning Down the House : Selected Poems from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's National Poetry Slam Champions.Roger Bonair-Agard, et al.

* Saint Maybe, by Anne Tyler.

* The Razor's Edge, by W. Somerset Maugham.

* A Map of the World & Book of Ruth, both by Jane Hamilton
